The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has come out with a list of 301 feature films eligible for Oscars with Indian films \u201dRRR\u201d, \u201dGangubai Kathiawadi\u201d, \u201dThe Kashmir Files\u201d and \u201dKantara\u201d making the cut.<\/p>\n
The reminder list includes movies that can officially compete in various categories but merely featuring in the list does not guarantee that the film will advance in the final nominations of the Academy Awards, to be announced on January 24.<\/p>\n
Pan Nalin\u2019s \u201dChhello Show\u201d (\u201dLast Film Show\u201d), India\u2019s official Oscar entry, also features in the list along with Vivek Agnihotri\u2019s \u201dThe Kashmir Files\u201d, Marathi titles \u201dMe Vasantrao\u201d and \u201dTujhya Sathi Kahi Hi\u201d, R Madhavan\u2019s \u201dRocketry: The Nambi Effect\u201d, \u201d Iravin Nizhal\u201d and Kannada movie \u201dVikrant Rona\u201d.<\/p>\n
Documentaries \u201dAll That Breathes\u201d by Shaunak Sen and Kartiki Gonsalves\u2019 \u201dThe Elephant Whisperers\u201d are also part of the list.<\/p>\n
From the listed films, four entries \u2014 \u201dChhello Show\u201d, \u201dRRR\u201d, \u201dAll That Breathes\u201d and \u201dThe Elephant Whisperers\u201d \u2014 have already made it to the Oscars shortlists for four categories.<\/p>\n
In the shortlist for 10 categories which AMPAS unveiled in December, \u201dChhello Show\u201d made it to the best international film segment, while \u201dNaatu Naatu\u201d from the blockbuster \u201dRRR\u201d found a place in the music (original song) category. \u201dAll That Breathes\u201d was included in the documentary feature shortlist and \u201dThe Elephant Whisperers\u201d in the documentary short category.<\/p>\n
