It recorded a low of minus 11.9 degrees Celsius, nosediving from minus 3.5 degrees Celsius the previous night.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in Gulmarg in north Kashmir fell by three notches to minus 10 degrees Celsius from previous night\u2019s minus 7 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<p>Kokernag and Qazigund towns in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius and minus 3.3 degrees Celsius respectively, the officials said.<\/p>\n<p>As per the MeT department forecast, the weather is expected to improve in Kashmir from Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Although \u2018Chilla-i-Kalan\u2019 \u2014 the 40-day harshest winter period \u2014 ended earlier this week, the cold wave has continued in Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>The valley is currently going through a 20-day \u2018Chilla-i-Khurd\u2019 (small cold) which will be followed by a 10-day \u2018Chilla-i-Bachha\u2019 (baby cold).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar : Cold wave conditions intensified in Kashmir on Monday as temperatures dipped further below freezing point at most places in the valley, officials said here.
