{"id":15046,"date":"2023-09-22T12:32:22","date_gmt":"2023-09-22T12:32:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jammukashmirlinks.com\/?p=15046"},"modified":"2023-09-22T12:32:22","modified_gmt":"2023-09-22T12:32:22","slug":"asian-games-india-slams-china-for-denying-accreditation-to-sportspersons-from-arunachal-pradesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jammukashmirhighlights.com\/?p=15046","title":{"rendered":"Asian Games: India slams China for denying accreditation to sportspersons from Arunachal Pradesh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi :<\/strong> India has lodged strong protests with China over its denial of accreditation for the Asian Games in Hangzhou to some of the Indian sportspersons from Arunachal Pradesh, saying the action violates the spirit of the sporting event and rules governing its conduct.<\/p>\n<p>External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said as a mark of India\u2019s protest against China\u2019s discriminatory behaviour, Union I&amp;B and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has cancelled his scheduled visit to China for the Games.<\/p>\n<p>Bagchi said India reserves the right to take \u201cmeasures to safeguard our interests\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government of India has learnt that the Chinese authorities have, in a targeted and pre-meditated manner, discriminated against some of the Indian sportspersons from the state of Arunachal Pradesh by denying them accreditation and entry to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China,\u201d Bagchi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn line with our long-standing and consistent position, India firmly rejects differential treatment of Indian citizens on the basis of domicile or ethnicity.
